🔱 Biofield Tuning

The human “biofield” refers to the complex, dynamic, and interconnected field of energy that surrounds and permeates the human body. It is also known as the human energy field or aura. The biofield extends beyond the physical body and is composed of various layers or levels of energy.

According to proponents of energy medicine and holistic health practices, the human biofield is not only influenced by the body's physiological processes but also by thoughts, emotions, beliefs, and experiences. A scientific overview of the biofield is offered in this paper. And in this article, a “summary of the state of the evidence for biofield therapies...” can be found.

Biofield tuning is a therapeutic practice that aims to balance and harmonize the human biofield. Developed by Eileen McKusick, biofield tuning is based on the premise that disruptions or imbalances in the biofield can lead to physical, emotional, and mental health issues.

While I had been familiar with the practice and with its founder for awhile, it wasn’t until I read her book “Electric Body, Electric Health” that I began to grasp the immense potential for this therapy.

In our electric universe, everything has vibration, even the state of our wellbeing.

Eileen McKusick

During a biofield tuning session, which can be done remotely, a practitioner uses tuning forks to detect and address disturbances in the client's biofield. The tuning forks are applied to specific points around the body, corresponding to energy centers or meridians. As the tuning forks resonate, they help to clear blockages and promote the free flow of energy throughout the biofield.

The process can release tension, reduce stress, and promote relaxation, allowing the body's natural healing mechanisms to activate. Biofield tuning can address a variety of issues, including chronic pain, emotional trauma, and energetic imbalances.

Recently, I completed three remote biofield tuning sessions with Guillermo Mendez, who has been studying and practicing Biofield Tuning for the last 5+ years; integrating fractal field, holographic theory, and the electric universe.

Guillermo is based in Montevideo, Uruguay and primarily does distance biofield tuning sessions. I’ve been recommending him to friends and family.

I also reached out to ask him a few questions about the practice:

Q: What inspired you to study biofield tuning?

A: I stumbled upon biofield tuning while studying the electric universe* concept. Transitioning paradigms to the electric universe framework instantly revealed the interconnectedness between the atomic and universal scales, aligning with the principle of "as above, so below."
*Listen to a discussion on the electric universe here

Instead of black holes and dark matter, the electric universe posits the existence of anti-proton/electron-like entities, diverging from the tenets of quantum theory. In contrast to the mysteries and uncertainties of quantum science, the electric universe offers a coherent perspective: plasma, organized at various levels, forms the fundamental structure across the cosmos, from thoughts to celestial bodies.

Quantum science often relies on numerous equations and assumptions, occasionally veering towards a stance of "trust us, we know better," which can alienate those seeking understanding.

Q: Why should someone give this therapy a try? How does biofield tuning differ from other types of healing practices?

A: What I appreciate most about this therapy is that I see myself as a facilitator to your self-healing journey. It may sound unconventional, but let me explain. Your body inherently knows how to heal itself; it's encoded in your DNA.

My role is to create space and mirror back a coherent signal to your body, allowing it to reset to its natural state. While I can't claim to cure illnesses like cancer, if you're seeking an active role in your healing process, biofield tuning offers a beautiful, non-invasive, and versatile approach.

To illustrate, imagine I'm a piano tuner. Each key represents an emotion, and by releasing any stuck piano key or emotion, we can expand your emotional range from a basic toy piano to a grand 1080-key Steinway. Just picture the symphonies that could emanate from such an instrument—clear and magnificent.

Q: Can you give a couple examples of disturbances you have found in someone’s biofield and what happened when you cleared them?

A: There are so many remarkable stories to share! Recently, I unintentionally facilitated the healing of an extended family from ancestral pain that had manifested as shoulder discomfort among many of my clients' relatives. During one session, the energy felt particularly stagnant, so we acknowledged it and requested release from their fear. Remarkably, within a week, several of her family members reached out, expressing sudden relief from their pain.

I find great satisfaction in assisting my mother, managing her arthritis remotely. By tuning into her sensations and applying the tuning forks accordingly, we achieved rebalance, even after a week of vertigo. Afterward, her doctor noted she was back to normal function with no signs of vertigo.

In another instance, I aided her recovery from COVID-19 by directing attention to the virus and visualizing its collapse, akin to the mini sub near the Titanic last year.

I'm often surprised by the suddenness of shifts, particularly when confronted with significant blockages or pain. Sometimes, a mere change in breath can alleviate it. Other times, an outpouring of tears, whether happy or sad, serves as the catalyst for breaking down emotional barriers.

One of the most vivid examples is when individuals express feeling lighter both physically and emotionally. They report deeper breathing and uninterrupted sleep, even vivid dreams, the following day. These testimonials underscore the profound impact of energetic healing practices.

Just as no two individuals are alike, each session is unique, just like you! Reactions vary based on sensitivity to subtle energy and the number of sessions one has experienced.

🧠 Dasein vs. Das Man

Martin Heidegger (1889-1976) was a German philosopher widely regarded as one of the most influential thinkers of the 20th century. He made significant contributions to existentialism and phenomenology, reshaping the landscape of modern philosophy.

Heidegger's philosophy emphasizes the importance of individual authenticity, the search for meaning, and the recognition of one's mortality. He also explored the nature of language, technology, and the relationship between human beings and the world.

In his most famous work, “Being and Time” (1927), Heidegger introduced two pivotal concepts that shed light on the human experience: Dasein and Das Man.

Dasein, translated as “being there”, represents human existence in its most authentic and individual form. It is the nature of what it means to be human — our consciousness, our engagement with the world, and our capacity for self-awareness. Dasein is not just a passive observer but an active participant in life.

Contrastingly, Das Man, translated as "the they" or "the one," represents the social conformity and collective mindset that pervades society. It reflects the impersonal norms, values, and expectations that shape our everyday lives. Das Man encompasses the societal pressures, cultural conventions, and modes of behavior that often obscure individual identity and authenticity. Basically, Das Man represents the loss of self in the crowd, where one's identity becomes subsumed by the collective.

Dasein signifies the quest for authenticity and self-discovery, urging individuals to confront their existence and grapple with life's fundamental questions.

Das Man underscores the dangers of conformity and alienation from one's true self. In the realm of Das Man, individuals relinquish their autonomy and surrender to the dictates of society, sacrificing personal identity at the altar of collective norms.

With social pressures and digital noise, it can be difficult to live as Dasein.

As humans pursue acceptance and approval from the collective, they become like Das Man.

Dasein Types:
-The conscious creators prioritizing self-discovery, authenticity and creative expression
-The mindful practitioners who practice meditation, yoga, mindfulness, journaling, and other introspective activities
-The social entrepreneurs who are driven to make a positive impact on society

Das Man Types:
-The social chameleons who constantly adapts their behavior, beliefs, and interests to fit in with different groups
-The consumer conformists who defines their identity and worth through material possessions, trends, and external markers of success
-The digital echos who are heavily influenced by social media, seeking validation from online interactions and metrics such as likes, followers, and comments

I think Heidegger’s description of these two archetypes is spot on.

To live as Dasein requires us to question the status quo, resist herd mentality, and reclaim our autonomy in the face of social expectations and digital echo chambers.

Yes, this means:
-Questioning mainstream media narratives
-Exploring alternative lifestyles
-Challenging traditional career paths
-Valuing intellectual curiosity
-Engaging in self-reflection practices

And not:
-Blindly following trends
-Seeking validation on social media
-Conforming to cultural norms
-Echoing political ideologies
-Prioritizing materialism over meaning

Ultimately, the choice between living as Dasein or succumbing to Das Man lies within each of us. By daring to question, explore, and embrace our true selves, we begin a journey of self-discovery that goes beyond the confines of societal expectations and cultural conditioning.

💃 Dancing Treats Depression

Soooo many ways to combat depression that are more effective than taking SSRI’s, dancing way out in front!

𝕏 Thread of the Week

🇺🇸 The Dark Side of the American Dream: A 2022 meta-analysis looked at 30 years of evidence on the differences between extrinsic and intrinsic goals. With over 70,000 subjects, the reviewers found focusing on extrinsic goals is associated with ill-being, while pursuing mastery leads to thriving—”focusing on intrinsic goals (such as for growth, relationships, community giving, and health) promotes well-being, whereas a focus on extrinsic goals (such as for wealth, fame, and beauty) deters well-being.” Stop living as Das Man and start living as Dasein.

👣 Walking in Nature is Better Than Walking in a City: As an avid walker in both city and natural environments, this study piqued my interest quite a bit. The researchers found a “significant combined effect of walking and the environment on cortisol concentrations.” They concluded that taking a walk in nature lowers cortisol while taking a walk in the city does not 😕

📱 Stop Staring at Your Phone Before Bed, Please: Results from a study show that blue light from your smartphone before sleep affects “not only circadian rhythm and evening sleepiness but causes further effects on sleep physiology and alertness in the morning.”

If you want to reduce your sleep quality, lower your AM alertness, and suppress melatonin production, go on and keep looking at your phone before bed. If you don’t want to do those things, either commit to avoiding your phone for 60+ minutes before bed or install this on your phone to be able to turn it red.
