Osho

Welcome back to The Synergetic Health Newsletter!

In this edition, I’ll share some of my favorite Osho quotes.

After that, the importance of eating well, moving well, and thinking well.

Then comes a mixture of things like the milk debate, EMF’s, and whey protein.

Finally, I’ll include some links to things I’ve found particularly interesting recently.

OSHO (1931-1990)

Osho, originally known as Rajneesh Chandra Mohan Jain, was an Indian spiritual teacher, mystic, and philosopher. He gained prominence during the 1960s and 1970s for his teachings on spirituality, meditation, and personal growth. Osho's teachings are a blend of Eastern philosophy, Western psychology, and his unique insights.

In 1970, he gained a following that was attracted to his unconventional approach to spirituality. Osho's teachings emphasized the importance of meditation as a way to achieve self-awareness, inner peace, and spiritual awakening. He encouraged his followers to question societal norms, beliefs, and ideologies to achieve a deeper understanding of themselves and the world around them.

In 1981, Osho relocated to the United States and established a large commune called Rajneeshpuram in Oregon. This community faced controversies and legal challenges, including a bio-terrorism incident in 1984. All of this was covered in the Netflix show Wild Wild Country.

His books, recorded discourses, and teachings are still widely read and studied by individuals seeking spiritual insights and personal development. Despite controversies and diverse opinions about his legacy, Osho remains a significant figure in the realm of spiritual and philosophical thought.

Here are some of my favorite quotes from him:

“Truth is not something outside to be discovered, it is something inside to be realized.”

“Whenever you are self-conscious you are simply showing that you are not conscious of the self at all. You don’t know who you are. If you had known, then there would have been no problem— then you are not seeking opinions. Then you are not worried what others say about you— it is irrelevant!”

“Your whole idea about yourself is borrowed-- borrowed from those who have no idea of who they are themselves.”

“Each person comes into this world with a specific destiny--he has something to fulfill, some message has to be delivered, some work has to be completed. You are not here accidentally--you are here meaningfully. There is a purpose behind you. The whole intends to do something through you.”

“The greatest fear in the world is of the opinions of others. And the moment you are unafraid of the crowd you are no longer a sheep, you become a lion. A great roar arises in your heart, the roar of freedom.”

“The truth is that existence wants your life to become a festival because when you are unhappy, you also throw unhappiness all around.”

“Don't seek, don't search, don't ask, don't knock, don't demand ~ relax.”

“When you are self-conscious you are in trouble. When you are self-conscious you are really showing symptoms that you don’t know who you are. Your very self-consciousness indicates that you have not come home yet.”

“If you relax it comes, if you relax it is there. If you relax, you start vibrating with it.”

“If you love a flower, don't pick it up. Because if you pick it up it dies and it ceases to be what you love. So, if you love a flower, let it be. Love is not about possession. Love is about appreciation.”

“Drop the idea of becoming someone, because you are already a masterpiece. You cannot be improved. You have only to come to it, to know it, to realize it.”

“The greatest fear in the world is the opinion of others, and the moment you are unafraid of the crowd, you are no longer a sheep, you become a lion. A great roar arises in your heart, the roar of freedom.”

Metal in Your Mouth?

If you have dental amalgams, you are more susceptible to nnEMF radiation from mobile phones and bluetooth devices (I’m looking at you, AirPods). This study found that mothers with metal in their mouth and persistent exposure to nnEMF may “cause elevated levels of mercury and possibly trigger the increase in autism rates.”

This phenomenon was also thoroughly covered by Dietrich Klinghardt MD, PhD in his 2017 paper “EMF and the Potentiation of Pathogens and Heavy Metals: Effective Mitigation and Detox.”

“The constant 24/7 exposure to microwave/cellphone radiation from either WiFi, nearby cellphone tower (less than 2 km) or cordless phone in the home drives the release of toxic mercury vapour from dental amalgam fillings. 80% migrate into the CNS with a half-life of 32 years”

Klinghardt is a well-known physician and researcher who has contributed significantly to the field of integrative medicine. He highlights the potential dangers of EMF, particularly from wireless technology.

Dietrich Klinghardt: A modern day Dr. Emmett Brown

In his paper, Klinghardt posits this question (and some responses):

Is the current electromagnetic environment responsible for chronic illness, extinction of entire species, global warming, and general madness?

-It has been calculated, that 50% of the population today will die with or of degenerative brain disease.

-The “health span” has decreased in the last 20 years by 10 years and is exponentially shortening.

-In the last few years, 80% of insects and 75% of songbirds have vanished – but only in areas with “good” cellphone coverage (which is now blanketing the western world).

-The number of autistic children increases every 5 years and by 2025 50% of the children born may be diagnosed with a life long neuro-developmental disorder by the time they reach the age of 4.

-There is a potent synergy between toxins, pathogens and microwave. Is it intentional?

-In the US, in women the cause of “death by neurological disease” has increased 663% in the last 20 years.

-It was known in 1973 that 2.4 Gigahertz is the wavelength that destroys our ability to fight off infections. This wavelength was later selected to blanket the entire western world. Why? Who?

Consider this short post a quick primer on the potential dangers of nnEMF (non-native electromagnetic frequencies). There is much more that needs to be said on the topic, coming soon!

Eat Well, Move Well, Think Well

On a recent episode, Ari Whitten interviews Dr. James Chestnut, a well-known expert in nutrition, wellness, and human physiology. Dr. Chestnut lucidly outlines the sad state of the current healthcare paradigm operating in North America while giving sound advice on how to take back control of your own health.

Here are five takeaways, among many more, from this conversation:

1. Health is the genetic expression of homeostatic physiology and psychology. It is determined by living in an environment that provides the necessary resources for genetic requirements.

2. Illness is caused by toxicity and deficiency, which occur when we deviate from our genetic requirements in terms of diet, exercise, and thoughts.

3. The conventional approach to health focuses on studying disease and treating symptoms with drugs, while an evolutionary biology approach focuses on preventing disease and maintaining health through proper lifestyle choices.

4. Lab markers and tests can provide some insight into health, but they do not give the full picture. They should not be solely relied upon to determine overall health and should be interpreted in the context of the individual's lifestyle and genetic requirements.

5. Eating well means consuming a diet that provides all the essential nutrients required for genetic expression of healthy structure and function, while avoiding toxic substances. Moving well involves engaging in various types of exercise to improve cardiovascular health, build strength, and maintain mobility. Thinking well refers to adopting a positive mindset, self-love, and avoiding toxic thought patterns.

Dr. Chestnut's overall message would be to prioritize your health by taking ownership of your own well-being. He emphasizes that individuals are both the source of their health and their own illness. The solution to health problems lies within themselves, and it is important to acknowledge that the choices they make regarding their diet, movement, and thoughts play a crucial role in their overall health.

He encourages individuals to adopt a mindset focused on prevention and healthy living rather than relying solely on medical interventions and medications. He promotes the idea of "eating well, moving well, and thinking well" as the foundation for longevity and well-being.

MILK

This 5-minute video explores the debate on the health effects of milk consumption, lactose intolerance, and the role of thyroid energy production.

It presents arguments stating that milk can be properly digested by adults and challenges the belief that it is not meant for consumption. Poor digestion due to energy deficiency, bacterial overgrowth, lactase enzyme deficiency, and thyroid function are suggested as possible factors contributing to lactose intolerance.

Also discussed is the deficiency of nutritional value in plant-based milk products and the challenges faced by milk production on a large scale. (Oat, almond, and soy “milk” are not great options, imo)

Twitter Thread of the Week

For Most Individuals, the Risks of Keto Diets Outweigh the Benefits: This was the conclusion of a review article that includes more than 120 references. They found that “Foods and dietary components that typically increase on ketogenic diets are linked to an increased risk of chronic kidney disease, cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes, and Alzheimer's disease, whereas intake of protective foods typically decreases.”

Vitamin D Improves Ovarian Reserves in Women With Infertility: Diminished ovarian reserves are a significant contributor to female infertility. While previously associated with women over 45, this issue now affects even females in their 30s. Recent research supports DHEA supplementation as beneficial, though high doses can raise estrogen, reducing benefits. An alternative is weekly 50,000 IU vitamin D supplementation, which boosts ovarian reserves and pregnancy rates, similarly to DHEA but without estrogen risk. Combining vitamin D and DHEA could be synergistic due to vitamin D's anti-estrogenic properties and its interaction with other steroids, particularly androgens like DHEA.

Avoiding Sunlight Increases Colon Cancer Risk: This study focused on the relationship between avoiding sunlight, colon cancer risk, and vitamin D levels. This outcome is unsurprising – avoiding sunlight leads to decreased vitamin D levels, an outcome that is often viewed by doctors as a relatively harmless trade-off to prevent skin cancer risk. However, the reality is that vitamin D deficiency is far from harmless; it has been linked to a range of chronic and potentially life-threatening conditions, affecting mortality across different age groups.

Regarding the concern of skin cancer risk, multiple studies have indicated that sun exposure does not raise the risk of melanoma, the most dangerous type of skin cancer. Paradoxically, avoiding sunlight can actually increase the risk of dying from melanoma (see past newsletters for explanations of this).

Back to this study, where the authors found that lower UVB exposure was significantly correlated with higher rates of colorectal cancer across all age groups from 0 to over 75 years in people living in the 186 countries included in the study.

Working Too Hard/Long Can Kill You: A 2021 study provides further evidence that work-related stress not only contributes to chronic and degenerative health conditions but also directly leads to premature death. Even the World Health Organization (W.H.O) acknowledges the compelling connection between intense work demands and early mortality. Interestingly, the study's criteria for defining "hard" or "long" work may astonish many, encompassing any schedule exceeding 55 hours weekly.

”Working 55 hours or more per week is a serious health hazard,” Dr. Maria Neira, director of WHO’s Department of Environment, Climate Change and Health said in a statement. “It’s time that we all, governments, employers, and employees wake up to the fact that long working hours can lead to premature death.”

That will do it for this time! Hopefully you got some value out of it. If you have any questions/comments/things you’d like to learn more about please don’t hesitate to reach out.
